Junior Sous Chef - Clayton Hotel Cardiff

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef in the Clayton Hotel Cardiff.

Clayton Hotel Cardiff is a 4 star hotel located in the heart of Cardiff city at the bottom of St.Mary’s Street. Location is everything at Clayton Hotel Cardiff, with the train and bus stations only a stone’s throw away and the city’s famous Principality Stadium only a short walk. Clayton Hotel is Cardiff’s largest hotel boasting 216 bedrooms, 7 modern meeting and conference rooms all with natural daylight and À la carte restaurant and bar, all with beautiful panoramic views of the capital city.  This an exciting time to join our Group and to be a part of a team, as we continue to expand throughout the UK and Ireland.

Objective of the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef, the sous chef plays a vital role in supporting the operations management of the kitchen, and in the production of excellent food.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the kitchen operations for the hotel.
  • Lead by example in excellent food production.
  • Mentor our skilled and ambitious culinary staff.
  • Support the Head Chef in their duties, occasionally deputise in their role.
  • Play an important role in the success of our conferences and events offerings.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a chef in hotels or similar.
  • Unrelenting focus on quality.
  • Qualification in culinary arts, or similar is desired, but not essential.
  • A personal desire to be developed and to learn in your role.
  • Ability to support the successful operations of the kitchen.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence with all levels of the business.
